The North Andover Fire Department withdrew from the Massachusetts Civil Service process in July of 2023. We no longer accept the civil service exam that is offered by the state. We are offering an entrance exam on November 2026. The exam is the first step in the process to become a North Andover Firefighter
The process includes but not limited to:
- Town exam (general knowledge)
- Extensive Background Check
- Interview Panel
- Medical Physical (general health, cardiac, drug testing, PFT, etc)
- Psychological Exam
- PAT Exam
When/If you are hired you will be required to attend and graduate the Massachusetts Fire Academy
